About Me:

When I was a student, there were many times where it was frustrating to get through assignments of new topics. This was due to pure memorisation of formulas rather than understanding; something I recognise to be so crucial. Hence, I break down the formulas for my students so that they can have a good grasp of their concepts. Soon enough, math can actually be fun! It is always encouraged for my students to take ownership of their learning while receiving my guidance as needed.

My students describe me as:

A tutor whom they can vibe and engage in friendly banter with to keep awake! They say that this gives them the courage to raise questions in class. Also, they appreciate how I’ll always highlight common pitfalls and share bonus info that they do not get to learn in school.

What our students say

"Alicia is a wonderful tutor. I began to dislike Math in JC because I couldn’t understand anything due to the significant increase in difficulty. After joining Alicia’s class, she changed the way I learnt Math, reigniting my passion and love for the subject. She makes her lessons interesting and fun, always making me look forward to class. She also provides round-the-clock guidance. No matter the time, as long as you have a question, she responds very quickly with detailed explanations!"

- Jacob Oh, D to A, RI

"I always thought that AMath was just about practicing, but Alicia helped me to understand that it was more about understanding the concepts, which made learning AMath more meaningful. She helped to break down challenging concepts and willingly repeated her explanations multiple times until we were able to grasp the concepts. She even went the extra mile to reply to our burning questions in the middle of the night at 2 am, providing a detailed explanation over text. She always made lessons so much more enjoyable, and has truly made me love AMath!"

- Alexis Hee, AMath A2, EMath A1, Class of 2025

"Alicia is very patient and attentive, always ensuring that her students understand every lesson taught. Her approachable nature makes her not just a teacher but also a friend, making it easy to ask questions without feeling intimidated. She explains concepts in a simple, structured, but informative way, going in depth where needed, making difficult topics easy to understand. With her guidance and support, my confidence in A Math improved greatly, and I went from a B4 in Secondary 3 EOYs to an A1 in my O Levels."

-Kai Yi Ang, B4 to A1, Singapore Chinese Girls' School, Class of 2025

"Alicia is an encouraging teacher who pushes me to look ahead. When I first joined her class, I felt hopeless due to scoring an F9 for A Math in my school exam. Alicia was clear and concise in her explanations and was always available for consultation before and after lessons, and even held online meetings. She constantly reminded me that my current grades did not define my final outcome, which motivated me to keep working hard. In the end, I improved to an A2 for my O Levels."

-Darielle Seetoh, F9 to A2, Tanjong Katong Girls' School, Class of 2025

"Before joining Alicia's class, I was completely demoralised after receiving an E8 for A Math. With much patience, she guided me step by step through every concept, always making sure I truly understood my workings instead of blindly copying recommended answers and moving on. With her constant encouragement and belief in me, I found the strength to persevere and eventually achieved an A1 at my O-Level exams."

- Bao Han, E8 to A1, Saint Anthony's Canossian Secondary School (SACSS), Class of 2025

"Ms Alicia has been incredibly helpful throughout my upper Secondary journey. She explains concepts clearly and breaks down difficult questions into simple and logical steps, making Mathematics easy to understand. Her lessons were engaging and easy to follow, helping me to build confidence and improve my exam performance. Thanks to Alicia’s clear explanations and consistent guidance, I was able to improve from a D7 in Secondary 3 to an A1 in O Levels."

- Laurel Siaw, D7 to A1, Tanjong Katong Girls' School, Class of 2025

"I really enjoyed myself doing the crash course. Not only was the session engaging, the lesson was also well-planned. The tutor, Alicia, was extremely thorough in explaining the concepts and was really patient as she slowly explained each step to ensure we had a better understanding. She also covered a good range of question types with different difficulty levels. I also really appreciated how she revised other important concepts and formulas along the way. In addition, the notes given were very well organised and summarised. The examples included were clear and easy to understand. Overall, the crash course really allowed me to have a good grasp of the topic."

- Riona Tan, RJC

"I found the September crash course so useful! I appreciate Alicia for helping me grasp crucial skills and techniques to solve differentiation problems! The content was so succinct and directed that I was able to understand them easily!! (I didn't take AMath in sec sch) I also appreciate the aftercare a lot! Alicia sent me some upper sec AMath syllabus to help me catch up with AMath and made sure I understood the crash course after! She also answered my questions and explained them in a very simplified manner! Thank you Alicia for helping me with differentiation and enhancing my Sept hols revision!"

- Euclyd Zhang, YIJC
