There are four papers in H2 Physics, with each testing different aspects of the students’ learning experience.
Paper 1: Students will need to answer 30 compulsory multiple-choice questions within 1 hour. This paper comprises 15% of the overall grade and will demand fast-paced recall across all the topics, allowing students an average of 2 minutes per question.
Paper 2: Students will face a variable number of compulsory structured questions within 2 hours. This paper comprises 30% of the overall grade and will require students to have conceptual understanding and knowledge of each topic.
Paper 3: Students will be presented with questions in two sections. All questions from Section A will be compulsory, but students will have the choice to pick between two questions from Section B. They will have 2 hours to complete the paper, and it comprises the largest portion of the overall grade at 35%.
Paper 4: Students will be assessed on their practical skills in the following areas:
- Planning
- Manipulation, measurement and observation
- Presentation of data and observations
- Analysis, conclusions and evaluation
This paper will take place over 2 hours and 30 minutes and comprise 20% of the overall grade.
