Before I joined Zenith, I had just decided to retake my A-Levels, which required me to redo all three H2 subjects and H1 General Paper. Initially, I was very worried as I planned to take the new GP syllabus. Lay Chun made lessons genuinely engaging—not just by being a fun teacher, but also by simplifying complex content. I joined Shi Neng’s class midway through J2 after NSG, and despite starting later than the other students, he made sure I could keep up and fully understand the content. When I first joined JC, I did poorly overall, with Math being my worst subject. This led me to join Kevin's class at Zenith. Kevin is incredibly patient — he honestly has the heart of a saint. He answers every question, even the ones that might seem silly, and will guide you no matter where you're starting from, even from ground zero. You’ll never feel afraid to ask him anything, and you can clarify any doubts almost immediately. It’s such a relief to be able to text him and get help with my Econs questions, especially compared to asking my fierce school teacher 😿. He makes Econs feel simple and easy to understand, especially for those of us who are really weak in the subject. It used to be so confusing to me, but after lessons with Kevin, I realised it's really just the same keywords and concepts repeated across different questions. I initially signed up for Chemistry class as I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the more rigorous curriculum in JC. Attending Shi Neng’s classes really helped me breeze through classes in school, as he explained the chemistry concepts really well and in a way that somehow gets ingrained in my mind. Beyond this, his lessons are fun and engaging, which helped foster my passion for the subject. Under his guidance, I was able to score consistently well for chemistry throughout JC and even achieve Top of Cohort for chemistry in J2 prelims.

Before joining Zenith, H2 Math felt like a subject where I had to mindlessly spend hours practising questions just to understand a topic. However, Chuan Li’s teaching style completely changed the way I approached the subject. His structured method of teaching helped me realise that many questions follow similar patterns. By familiarising ourselves with the standard steps he taught us, I gradually became more confident and efficient in tackling different types of math problems. Furthermore, Chuan Li consistently trained us to work through each and every question under timed conditions well before the actual A Levels. Because of this, completing my paper during math exams was never an issue. Lastly, Chuan Li is one of the most dedicated teachers I have ever met. He always takes the time to clarify our doubts, whether during lessons or through text (often replying within minutes). He also continuously motivated us throughout the intense A Level period, ensuring that we were both mentally and physically prepared for the final paper. I would highly recommend his lessons to any student looking to improve their understanding and performance in H2 Math.

I’ve always loved Bio, but in JC I struggled to score, especially with the time crunch in exams ☹️. Even though I kept memorising content, I couldn’t identify the keywords needed and felt like I was aimlessly memorising. Phoebe was a lifesaver 🤭 !! She taught us how to break down the marks and plan our answers before writing, which helped me be much more deliberate instead of brain-dumping. As A Levels approached, Phoebe gave us weekly timed trials with predicted questions, many of which were spot on. This made me very confident in my ansewrs. I am also very grateful for her many consultations before and after lessons to go through my exam paper. She was really helpful in pointing out my weak areas and suggesting better study methods. After consistently scoring Ds in JC, I eventually achieved an A for Bio!

Before joining Zenith post promos, I was struggling a lot with Biology. Despite studying very hard, I could only get Cs (or maximum B). Bio had always felt extremely tiring to study, requiring endless hours of memorisation. However, joining Phoebe’s class made me realise that Bio doesn’t have to be daunting and can actually be quite fun! The transition from O-Level Bio to A-Level Bio really hit me like a train. The amount of content was overwhelming and I struggled to cope, so my grades in JC were usually around a C. After joining Phoebe’s classes, my grades improved steadily and I eventually achieved an A for Bio at A Levels. The lessons were engaging, everyone had a chance to answer questions, and every doubt was addressed. Outside of lessons, Phoebe would even answer questions as early as 6am, which really helped with learning outside of class. Before I even entered JC, I heard from seniors that H2 Biology would be a very content-heavy and daunting subject 😟. But with Phoebe’s help since J1, I’ve been able to grasp Biology concepts much more easily (especially with her unique analogies 😂), which eventually helped me score an A for A Level. I’m very thankful for having Duncan as my JC Physics tutor in Zenith! Duncan goes above and beyond to help all his students such as answering our questions past midnight, giving many additional practices to help us, and breaking down complex concepts so that it is much easier to understand. Since the very first examination, Aznikah helped me consistently achieve As for Physics, and eventually an A for A-Level! Physics was initially a subject that I had little interest in, and studying it often felt like a chore. One teaching style I really appreciated was Chuan Li’s focus on speed and accuracy. Since he knew we understood the concepts, he would often time us while we practised so we could solve questions faster and more accurately under exam conditions. He also exposed us to a wide range of question types and taught us how to recognise them. One unique approach he used was getting us to identify the steps needed to solve different question types without necessarily completing the full solution. This was a very efficient way to revise many question types and understand how to approach them. His lessons were always engaging, and time passed very quickly during class. Beyond academics, he also cared about our well-being, reminding us to stay calm, take deep breaths and skip questions when stuck, and maintain healthy habits like sleeping early and exercising. I would definitely recommend Chuan Li because he genuinely cares for his students while pushing them to do their best, not just in Math but also in developing discipline and good habits.

Nearing A Levels, we were given problem set after problem set, filled with a compilation of questions ranging across all the topics we had learnt. This was very useful as it felt like a good simulation for the actual A Level paper, and the rigorous practice was key to getting exposed to and mastering more question types. What I felt was most useful to me throughout my J2 journey was how readily Chuan Li extended his help. Anytime I faced difficulty or confusion with school work or practice papers, he would respond to my texts in detail as soon as possible. This helped to clear the frequent doubts I had regarding Math, and if I didn’t know I had help available to me anytime I needed, I think I would have felt so lost. Most importantly, Chuan Li goes beyond teaching. He would often send videos of encouragement and remind us what we should focus on during the study break and the start of A Levels. This constant guidance, support, and motivation was something I was very grateful for, especially at a time when stress and anxiety were high. After the gruelling year and the many challenges with Math, I managed to go from a D in promos to an A in the A Levels. All in all, if you are feeling lost in Math and need someone to turn to for extra help, to bring clarity, and steer you on the right path, Chuan Li is the way to go!

I was really struggling with the mental aspect of tackling A levels especially with H2 Chemistry. Before joining Zenith GP in J2, I was very discouraged by GP in school. I had zero direction or concept of how to write good essays nor how to structure my AQs. Throughout my JC life, I’ve always struggled with GP as I’ve never had a flair for the English Language. I joined Zach’s classes in April of JC2. I was fortunate to have started and ended my General Paper journey with Zach. While it was a subject I struggled to grasp initially, Zach has been a great source of help. Living and breathing GP, Zach constantly encourages his students to practise critical thinking beyond academic work. His meticulous approach to lessons enabled me to fine tune my techniques to the smallest detail, such as brainstorming and evaluative argumentation. Learning GP with Zach also goes beyond the classroom as he shares social media content that prompts us to form an informed opinion on current issues. Zach is also extremely approachable and humorous. Personally, I vividly remember the many yap sessions we shared over global politics and social issues, where I was able to hear different perspectives. Most importantly, Zach goes above and beyond for his students, answering DMs late into the night and even entertaining a GP consult with me till as late as 11pm! Overall, not only have I gained academic support from Zach, but I have gained a life mentor and developed intellectually in the way I view the world’s affairs. I highly recommend Zach to any juniors who want a uniquely meaningful GP experience!
