MF27 Formula List: Singapore A-Level Mathematics (2026)

Master Your MF27 Formulae

Officially published by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2025, the MF27 is the latest mathematical formulae booklet for students taking H1, H2, and H3 Mathematics and H2 Further Mathematics1. It replaces earlier versions of the formulae and is updated to align with the current A Level Maths syllabus.

Each formula in the MF27 booklet represents a fundamental concept across key topics such as vectors, trigonometry, and algebra. With a strong grasp on what each equation means and how to use it appropriately, students will be able to confidently tackle challenging problems in their A Levels.

Whether you need extra guidance to solidify your understanding of the MF27 or personalised support in your weakest topics, Zenith offers structured H2 Math tuition lessons to help you excel.

After getting a U for Math at promos, I enrolled in Zenith and started attending Ming Liang’s lessons. He helped to clarify all my queries, and his lessons were perfectly paced for me. My grades steadily improved throughout J2, and I eventually got an A at A Levels!

What Changed From MF26 to MF27?

The MF27 booklet features many changes from the previous MF26 version and aligns closely with the current H2 Math syllabus. Here are some of the changes:

  • Trigonometry: Removed some trigonometric formulae
  • Calculus and Integration: Added applications of definite integrals
  • Functions of Two Variables: Included the quadratic approximation of f at (a, b)
  • Numerical Methods: Questions involving topics such as Euler’s Method will now be tested in H2 Mathematics
  • Probability and Statistics: Removed the normal distribution function table and critical values for t-distribution and 𝜒2-distribution
  • Mathematical Results: Added key results such as AM–GM inequality, Cauchy–Schwarz inequality, and triangle inequality

The sections that have remained unchanged are as follows:

  • Algebraic Series: The binomial expansion and the Maclaurin expansion
  • Partial Fractions Decomposition: Non-repeated linear factors, repeated linear factors, and non-repeated quadratic factors
  • Trigonometry: Trigonometric identities, such as sin(A ± B) = sin A cos B ± cos A sin B
  • Derivatives: Formulas such as cosec x – cosec x cot x
  • Integrals: Functions and integrals such as f(x) ∫f(x)d(x)
  • Vectors: Formulas such as the vector product
  • Numerical Methods: The Simpson’s rule and the Euler Method

Probability and Statistics: Sampling and testing, standard discrete distributions, and other key methods

Chuan Li’s Math classes were a total game-changer. I went from struggling to feeling confident in exams. He’s extremely responsive on WhatsApp, even beyond class hours. If you’re looking for an H2 Math tutor who genuinely cares, I 100% recommend him!

FAQs: MF 27 Formula Sheet for A Level H2 Math

What changed from MF26 to MF27?

There were quite a few changes from MF26 to MF27. Some of the most prominent changes include the removal of some trigonometric formulae and critical values for t-distribution and 𝜒2-distribution, as well as the addition of mathematical results, geometric, and exponential distributions.

Am I allowed to bring my own MF27 sheet?

No, you are not allowed to bring your own MF27 sheet into the exam. However, the MF27 formula sheet will be provided to you as a resource for reference anytime throughout your exam.

What formulae are missing from the MF27 list?

There are many key formulae not included in the M27 list, including the cosine rule (a² = b² + c² - 2bc cos A), sine rule (a/sin A = b/sin B = c/sin C), scalar product formula, arc length, and others.

What are the advanced topics featured in the MF27 list (e.g. binomial expansion, algebra, etc.)?

The MF27 booklet includes advanced topics such as binomial expansion, algebra, calculus (derivatives and integrals), geometry (vectors), complex numbers, trigonometric identities, and probability/statistics. It is a reference source of formulae and tables for A Level Math exams.

Where can I learn how to use the MF27 formula list for my studies?

Students will usually encounter each MF27 formula in class or while practising on past-year papers. However, for a more comprehensive understanding of how each MF27 formula is used and applied in different question types, students can join our H2 Math tuition classes. Our teachers offer 24/7 personalised support, providing detailed answers throughout their A Level exam preparations.

"While Zenith’s notes are much better than my school's, it was truly my tutor who got me from a U to A grade. He is someone I truly respect. Not only was he very approachable, he made sure that we really absorbed what we needed, and was always willing to stay way past our lesson timings to clarify any of our questions."

"After joining Zenith Bio, my grades improved drastically from an S to an A in A Level’s! Bio is so much more than regurgitation and requires a firm understanding of the subject in order to ace A Levels — I was super glad that I was able to text my friendly tutor with any questions I had!! Getting treated to welfare during bio lessons also really helped me to focus throughout the lesson. 🥤"

"With the huge academic transition to JC, I was unable to cope with my studies and constantly scored an S for my exams. After joining the crash courses held by Zenith in June, I decided to sign up for their chemistry class! My tutor is an extremely helpful teacher and his teachings were concise and easy to understand which greatly helped me clear up any misconceptions I had."
