"Mr. Finn is always a friend first, mentor second. From day one, his humorous and nonchalant demeanor kept the class engaging and lighthearted, making me open to approaching him with my queries. Lessons on Paper 1 felt more like a conversation and an exchange of ideas instead of a lecture. When it comes to teaching, Mr. Finn is very professional in his craft. He is well-versed in current affairs and is capable of highlighting the nuances of question requirements in understandable terms. "Personally, I was never much of a reading enthusiast when it came to current affairs as many of the global developments felt very peripheral to my personal life. After my first lesson with Mr Finn, I was thoroughly impressed by the way he eloquently delivered a thought-provoking lesson. His genuine passion to expand our world view was infectious and ignited a flame of curiosity within me. Over the course of the year, he made an effort to get to know his students on a personal level, which helped him to identify the topics of interest of each student. This had allowed him to tailor his lessons to engage his students on a deeper level to help them develop strong foundational knowledge to not only score better, but to also ingrain critical thinking skills. What makes Mr Finn stand out from other tutors is the way he utilises his witty sense of humour to grasp the attention of his students to make mundane topics lively and engaging. His lessons are also well structured to inculcate sensitivity to the demands of the question and how to tackle them.
