About Me:

I started teaching because I want to pay it forward! As a student before, I fully understand the struggle of having to understand difficult concepts while facing the pressure to excel. I was lucky to be surrounded by peers and seniors in my student years to help me whenever I got stuck. Because I knew the difference a tutor could make, it inspired me to guide others too. I started out as a private tutor, and eventually found my way into Zenith!

Math has always been my strongest subject, and hence, I’m here to make mathematics simple and idiot proof through clear understanding and practice! I’m here to play the role of your friendly tutor, who’s here to help you to excel in your studies and ace your exams!

What our students say

"I joined Zenith Math at the start of my J2 year, and it was definitely able to give me the much needed practice and help! Because I had a lot of responsibilities in school and was involved in a lot of events, I didn’t have the time to do a lot of practice on my own for maths… But, Zenith allowed me to have regular practice every week, exposing me to the “standard questions”, as well as challenging questions for each topic. My tutor, Kevin, was also extremely capable — he explained new concepts quickly and clearly, was very patient with us and willing to help us anytime when we sent him questions online! He would regularly go back to old topics that we might have become rusty in after speeding along through the other topics, which allowed us to keep refreshing our memory of previous topics (and their questions) and not have to panic study whenever we had a revision test at school. He would also give us advice (eg. about pacing ourselves to peak at As), check in with us regularly to see whether we were coping well, and even make the effort to buy us different kinds of welfare snacks (like bubble tea, açai, mochi etc) every month. I felt that I could really see the impact of going for Zenith the most close to taking my A levels, because that’s when I started to do revision papers and all that I had learnt from practice at Zenith came flowing back to me. In the end, I got an A for A level Math! A large part of it would be because of the help of Zenith, and so I would definitely recommend Zenith to my juniors and friends :)"

"I joined kevin’s math tution in 2022, scoring a U for my mid yrs in J1. Math concepts were hard to grasp in JC and difficult to do self practices, hence i decided to join Zenith to in hopes to improve my grades. Ever since i have attended his lessons, the math concepts have become so
much easier to grasp. Kevin makes his lessons straightforward and understandable with sufficient practice to prepare us for every paper. I significantly improved to an A grade for A levels, so to those reading this, stop hesitating and sign up for his class rn!!!"

"kevin was my tutor , and i studied h2 math under him for almost 2 years. the structure of the lessons and the manner in which the tutors delivered them really aided my understanding of complex and new ideas. some concepts that i struggled to understand in school became a breeze when he taught me. the tutorials provided were also helpful because they focused on the most crucial elements , making them easy to understand from the start. aside from that , being able to freely contact kevin with questions and concerns was very helpful. he’s willing to help regardless of the question. at the end of it all , with his help , i managed to improve my grade from a U in prelims to an A in h2 maths for A levels. - Shang Leong, Class of 2023

"Before joining Zenith, I was struggling with H2 Mathematics and scored an ‘S’ for my mid year exams in J1. I was very far behind and could not understand what was being taught in school at all. However, I immediately saw improvements after joining Zenith. Lessons and notes are concise, highlighting important points of every topic, making it much easier to understand compared to my regular school notes. With the practice questions provided, I was able to apply the techniques learnt every lesson and caught up very quickly. My tutor, Kevin, also taught me how to identify different question types and it made a huge difference when tackling exam papers. Overall, joining Zenith made me well prepared for my A level Mathematics and I managed to score an ‘A’ grade for A levels. I highly recommend Zenith for all JC students! "

"When I first met Kevin in j1, he was the most chill teacher which made class comfortable & math slightly less intimidating. My math foundation was very weak coming from secondary school, and yet within months, Kevin was able to help me form a solid foundation in H2 Math. In the beginning, I was incredibly embarrassed to ask some questions because of how simple they seemed, but he answered all of them no matter how easy they sounded. This really bolstered my courage to continue asking questions to clear my doubts, and also gave me greater motivation to do more questions. With every chapter, he was able to break down the concepts, and point out all the essential details which makes grasping of the material much easier.
Eventually, I managed to see improvements throughout the year and managed to get a B during promos.

Kevin was supportive and caring as a teacher, as he would celebrate his students’ successes while treating us to welfare or hear us rant whenever life got a bit too stressful. He went beyond the classroom to ensure that we were doing okay, which made him a great teacher to have. Besides checking up on us, he gives advice and pep talks to prepare for us for what’s coming up in JC in order to motivate us or just put us in the right mindset.

Later on in J2, Kevin continued to give round the clock support for our questions, and provided much more resources whenever i asked for them. With this, I was really exposed to a lot more material & was able to achieve As consistently throughout J2. In the last few months leading up to As, Kevin assessed his students’ math abilities, and provided the help necessary for them to do their very best in the A levels.
I’m thankful for Kevin’s help in the last 2 years, and I managed to clinch a distinction for H2 Math at the A levels."

- Jamie Ng, Class of 2023

"Kevin’s classes were amazing and I think one really thoughtful thing he always does is to ensure all the students in his class are always on par with the lesson. After covering every chapter and when we are doing practices, he would always go around to check on everybody, creating chances for us to ask him questions personally if we are too shy as well. This makes his lessons really comfortable and they do not feel very pressured or rushed. Eventually, I managed to get an A for math for my A levels and would really like to thank my math tutor, Kevin once again!"

"Kevin was a passionate yet engaging tutor who was able to effectively deliver lessons whilekeeping the class attentive. Whenever students had questions, he would never fail to clarifytheir doubts by explaining to them patiently in great detail. He would also break trickierquestions down into simpler parts, which aids in the understanding and confidence of manystudents, including myself. When students get back their exam scripts, he would patiently runthrough with them any mistakes they may not understand, as well as giving feedback for areasfor improvement. Kevin also ensures students are able to keep up with his teachings bychecking in with them after lessons, making sure that students understand important keyconcepts of various topics that were taught. He also regularly bonds with students during breaktimes by chatting with them, sharing about his past experiences and stresses in JC as well asgiving advice on how to cope should students ask. Kevin also cares for the wellbeing of hisstudents by selflessly spending his own money on welfare for them. Throughout the lessonsspent with him, I and many other students understood topics better and could handle trickierquestions with more confidence. This led to us becoming better in math and seeing our gradesimprove up towards A levels. With utmost dedication in giving students the very best, Kevin isone that is definitely loved by many of his students."

"Before joining math classes at Zenith, I had gotten D grade my J1 promos for H2 Math and saw no improvement after J2 Mid-Years. I had to find a math tutor quickly before the A level studyingseason started, and a reliable one at that. I asked classmates around in school and at Zenith forrecommendations and that was when I heard about Kevin’s classes and signed up for trialclasses in July 2022. Prior to joining his class, Kevin was already helping me with math everyonce in a while when we saw each other outside of classes even though I wasn’t a student ofhis. His passion to guide those in need and regardless of proficiency level or background iswhat impressed me and gave me the confidence to try his classes. Kevin’s class wasstraightforward and efficient, diving headfirst into the necessary basics and then immediatelyrunning through exam questions to apply what we had just learnt to avoid the issue of forgettingthe basics. Additionally, lessons were conducted at a progressive pace, with each lesson aimingto get us to answer higher order questions and getting used to the intensiveness of A Levelseason. The emphasis on constantly attempting exam questions is what helped me mostbecause it helped me understand the different question types, their respective requirements andthe necessary answering techniques. Despite feeling anxious over my Math grades throughoutthe year, Kevin was very supportive and patient both during and outside of classes which Ipersonally think I needed the most, especially since I was not just behind schedule but also notas proficient as my peers. I scored a C grade for prelims and was quite disappointed, but Kevindid not doubt my ability and pushed me to try even harder for the A levels. Overall, Kevin’slessons were not only motivating but also helped me cultivate studying discipline."
